The film tells two alternating, interconnected stories that blur the lines between reality and fiction. In 2004, Elsa is a hardworking advertising director who immerses herself in work after her mother’s death. She travels to the volcanic island of Lanzarote to escape and gain perspective. Fast forward to 2026, and we find screenwriter Raúl in a long creative drought. He turns to autofiction, writing a script that mirrors Elsa’s life and drawing heavily - and often unethically - on the private lives, traumas, and secrets of his intimate circle of friends.
