Director Jeff Nichols’ latest film examines the inner workings of a man who may or may not be going insane. Curtis (Michael Shannon) is an average American who goes to work, has a lovely wife (Jessica Chastain) and daughter. He begins to experience apocalyptic visions and determines that he has to build a backyard shelter to protect his family from the coming storm. The audience is caught up in Curtis’ sense of dread and growing desperation in this unsettling drama. |
